The Information Observatory exists to complete strategic analyses of Island Strategic Partnership interest, for and on behalf of the ISP.   Proforma questions to be asked of any strategic analyses undertaken are:

1. what title should be given to the analysis

2. a definition of what the analysis is of, or about

3. who the analysis is requested by

4. when the analysis is to be completed by

5. what format the analysis is expected to be completed in

6. what datasets should be used as source data for the analysis and over what time period should the analysis be carried out for

7. what process should be followed to complete the analysis

8. What the national context of the analysis is

Any request for analytical work to be carried out by the Observatory must be prefaced by a description of the work required in the terms above.
