Together, we know a lot about our Island, a great deal of it has been used to develop Eco Island. This includes what residents and visitors have said about the Island as well as demographic and other information collected by the partners on a sometimes daily basis. This can tell us about what needs to be done to achieve our vision and how well we are doing it.
A number of links are provided below to downloadable summaries of data and information. There is also much information avaialable from the many strategic plans that are available elsewehere. These documents often include views, data and information that was collected that has influenced the development of Eco Island.
This part of our website will be regularly updated and improved, not just in its present form, but as part of a major new Eco Island development; an Eco Island Information Observatory.
The ISP have agreed the development of an Island Information Observatory which will help partners to share data and information. The observatory will give public access as part of Eco Island’s intention to give access to greater involvement in community life and local decision making.
The observatory will include information about the Island, what the partners are doing and analysis of data. Sharing this information will improve partnership working by improving the information that partners have to make decisions. It will also make information collection a much more effective activity.
The UK Statistics Authority has a great deal of demographic, social and economic information in an easliy readable website that can give detailed information at Island, ward and sometimes street level. Their neighbourhood search webpage can be found here at http://www.neighbourhood.statistics.gov.uk/dissemination/
